Preorder - what's the deal?
We believe in sustainability, to the best of our ability.
As far as footwear manufacturing goes, mass production in the style of fast fashion brands is bad for the environment and bad for business.
That’s because when products are mass-produced, the ones that aren’t sold end up either being discarded, (bad for the environment), or sitting on a shelf in the warehouse for years, (bad for business).
When items are pre-ordered, we know the demand for certain sizes and styles, and can produce based on those figures.
No wasteful production, just making what we need. It also allows us to be more creative with our styles, and bring more exciting and limited releases to you!
We make limited edition collections of shoes in exclusive pre-order drops, four times a year.
We bring our love for the classics and create functional, ethical footwear that looks damn good. Styles made to order for you, that won’t be sold ever again once they’re gone. (Unless they get the rare honour of being introduced into our Core Collection.)
How does it work?
The mailing list crew are the first to know when a collection is set to drop and the dates for pre-order (so make sure you’re signed up!). Exclusive access is given to our mailing list, so pre-orders are open to them for two weeks before anyone else.
As this is the earliest stage of preorder, it’s the only way to guarantee a pair in your size. Then, if sizes are still available, pre-orders will be opened up to everyone for another fortnight. Once this closes, the orders are shipped to those who’ve purchased, and any remaining stock or returns go to our website and showroom for the lucky latecomers.
What happens to returns?
We know that shoes are tricky to get perfect. Not everyone will find their right size, so we still offer free returns for pre-ordered shoes. Or, in lucky cases, a size will still be available for you to exchange.
These returned pairs will go to people on our waitlists, or be in-stock online and in our showroom until they sell out - so you may find your coveted pair of 47s after all!
