PUNK ROCK REVIVAL
On Track is a series where we share the tunes that have been blasting in the Nōskin showroom over the last month. A mixture of the classics and something fresh.
Although we have a pretty eclectic taste over here at Noskin HQ, there's no doubt that I (Tony) have pretty deep roots in the Punk Rock and Pop-Punk scenes, so it makes sense that our first On Track Playlist will be an ode to my favourite genre.
With a number of bands that influenced a generation in the early 2000's releasing new music, this month's collection includes some of the newer songs released, and then a corresponding classic from each band.
IN THE SPOTLIGHT
From this month's playlist, the callout track has to be 'Look Ma, No Brains!' by Green Day.
I've got a lot of memories that involve waiting outside record stores to go in and get my hands on a new Green Day album, but this hasn't held the same excitement since American Idiot.
This track however, threw me right back into those Insomniac and Nimrod days, where I'd pick up my guitar, crank the amp and play along with 3 chords until my face ached from smiling.
Do we have an upcoming Green Day album on our hands that will be a true return to the classic sound of the late 90's? Here's hoping!
